MFJ-269D 100 kHz-160 kHz, 260 kHz to 230 MHz, 415-470 MHz Antenna SWR Analyzers

The MFJ-269D is a compact and fully portable SWR antenna analyzer for the 100 kHz-160 kHz, 260 kHz to 230 MHz, and 415-470 MHz frequency ranges and combines five basic circuits: a variable oscillator, frequency counter, frequency multiplier, 50-ohm RF bridge, a microcontroller and a twelve-bit A-D converter for better accuracy and resolution. Together, these circuits perform a wide variety of useful antenna and RF impedance measurements, including coaxial cable loss and electrical distance to an open or short and calculating coaxial cable length. Although mainly designed for analyzing 50-ohm antenna and transmission line systems, the MFJ-269D is capable of measuring RF impedance from a few ohms to several hundred ohms.

An easy-to-access, user-controlled Zo setting in the Advanced function menus facilitates changing SWR and other SWR functions such as return loss, reflection coefficient, match efficiency, etc., to any normalized impedance value between 5 and 600 Ohms.

The MFJ-269D also functions as a non-precision signal source and frequency counter. The operating frequency extends from 0.10 to 230 MHz in nine overlapping bands with extended SWR measurement from 415 to 470 MHz.

Its Large, easy-to-read 2-line LCD display and side-by-side meters clearly display the desired information. Other great features include a built-in Ni-Cad/Ni-MH charging circuit, battery saver, low battery warning, smooth reduction drive tuning and a signal source for testing/alignment.

MFJ-269D Frequency Range

The Dual-Range Frequency Switches on the MFJ-269D are used to select the following Oscillator Bands with a Small Overlap:

A UHF pushbutton switch located above the LCD display activates 415-470 MHz SWR coverage. See section 3.4 for VFO operating specifics.
